On this day, February 6, 1976, illustrator Berta Hoerner Hader died in Grand-View-on-Hudson, New York. After working at the Western Engraving Company in Seattle, Hader studied art at the California School of Design. Berta Hader worked for McCall’s in New York doing fashion design illustration and after her marriage to illustrator Elmer Hader collaboration on illustrations for more than 70 children’s books, about half of which they also wrote.
