On this day, October 29, 1932, Bernie Fuchs was born in O’Fallon, Illinois.  As an illustrator Fuchs produced advertising art, magazine story illustration, and postage stamp designs. His innovative atmospheric use of color was influential in illustration from the late 1960s.
