On this day, August 17, 1938, cartoonist Trina Robbins was born. Robbins early illustrations appears in science fiction magazines. Her underground comics began appearing in New York and in 1970 she moved to San Francisco where she initially worked at the feminist underground newspaper It Ain’t Me, Babe. Robbins was the artistic co-creator of Vampirella.
