On this day, February 6, 2008, John Henry Alvin died in Rhinebeck, New York. After studying at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, Alvin began working as an animator. In 1974 Alvin’s career took a significant turn when he created the advertising poster for the movie Blazing Saddles.
