On this day, June 10, 1873, Olive Rush born near Fairmount, Indiana. She studied art at the Corcoran Gallery of Art School, at the Art Students League, with Howard Pyle in Wilmington, Delaware, and at the Boston Museum School. Rush worked as a successful illustrator of magaazines covers and stories, and was also a skilled mural painter.
