On this day, June 13, 1946, muralist, architectural delineator, and illustrator Jules Guérin died in Neptune, New Jersey. Initially Guérin studied art in Chicago with Winsor McCay as his studio partner. In New York Guérin made is reputation as an architectural delineator for McKim, Mead and White and their friends. His fame as a colorist brought him many commissions from major magazines.
