On this day, June 30, 1904, author and illustrator Eleanor Frances Lattimore was born in Shanghai, China. Lattimore studied art in Oakland, California, in Boston and New York City. She was the author and illustrator for more than 50 popular children’s books and her first, Little Pear, is considered a children’s classic.
