On this day, June 7, 1900, illustrator John Atherton was born in Brainerd, Minnesota. After service in the U. S. Navy, Atherton studied at The California School of Fine Arts and worked as a commercial artist for a variety of big corporations. He also painted surrealist landscapes. Atherton was also one of the illustrators who taught illustration art via correspondence courses with the FamousArtistsSchool.
