On this day, March 6, 1986, pulp illustrator Jack Binder died in Chestertown, New York. Binder’s family emigrated to the U. S. when Jack was six years old. He studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and then he worked in the art department of the Field Museum of Natural History. In 1937 Binder moved to New York City and began to sell illustrations to pulp magazines and drew for comic books.
