On this day, November 16, 1934, Alfredo Lutz Demorest died in Trinidad. Born in Santiago, Chile of American parents, after training and serving in the Diplomatic Service, Demorest studied art, at the School of the Boston Museum of the Fine Arts and at the Art Students League of New York. He studied illustration with Howard Pyle. Demorest served in the first world war and then returned to diplomatic service.
