On this day, September 5, 1956, illustrator and author Howard Wandrei died in St. Paul, Minnesota. Wanderi wrote over 200 stores that appeared in various pulp and other magazines under his own name or  his pseudonyms. Many of his illustrations were created for various books produced by his brother Donald Wanderi.
